Facility Tour: New Hope Christian Fellowship

In 2004, (and again in 2007 or so) I visited New Hope Christian Fellowship in Honolulu, Hawaii. Here are a few pictures I took. I actually checked out more areas in my latter trip (including the cool hidden attic walkway!) but do not have all the pictures. The first time was as an attendee. The second time was coordinating a conference there. All I can say is I have great respect for all the staff there — it was so awesome working with them!

Facility Tour: Willow Creek Community Church Part 1

In 2004 I went to Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, Illinois for the Volunteer Revolution Conference. I was happy to go, as Willow Creek was actually my home church back in the days when I lived nearby. But they had recently built a brand new auditorium — which was beautiful! Since I took so many pictures, I am splitting this into two posts.

This first one has to do with the lobby and hallway areas.

Facility Tour: Saddleback Church

In 2004, I visited Saddleback Church (Rick Warren’s church) in Orange County, California for another conference (that’s how I end up visiting all these churches!). As I mentioned in the other posts, I’m not sure how things look nowadays but these are pictures from back then that can serve as inspiration for ideas.

Facility Tour: East Bay Bible Fellowship

In 2004, I was at East Bay Fellowship in Danville, California for a worship conference. During break I took an opportunity to wander around and take pictures of their facility. They have a very nice facility. Their children’s ministry area is amazing!

Facility Tour: Santa Cruz Bible Church

I recently went through my old stash of photos and discovered many photos I have taken through the years as I have visited churches. So I will be putting up a series of posts instead of letting those photos just sit in the darkened computer CD shelf. I have no idea if these churches look like this today, but perhaps they will be inspiration to those looking to remodel or to decorate their church facilities.

The Issue of Ownership

I recently read an interesting article (1) about how countries have tried to protect endangered species by enforcing poaching laws. Unfortunately, this just increases the black market demand for animals and game populations across Africa are plummeting. So, what to do?

The solution? Ownership.

Before we talk about the creative solution that one country put into practice, let’s take a visual look at the concept of ownership and why it’s important.
